Are you gonna take your medicine. So I fixed it. So much tragedy in that one moment. The detail of Danny changing his eye colour is my favourite detail in the directors cut. This was an amazing sequel, it was very easy to understand and linked to the original shining well but I think the film could have been a lot more scary as it was very weak in that aspect and could have been about 30 min shorter but over all it was a good film.

I just watched the movie and it is AWESOME! I hope people appreciate it as it is. I enjoyed every minute of it. There were even moments in the movie where Ewan looked and even sounded like Jack Nicholson in the Shining. Truly a masterpiece. 1:40 He had the high ground. but he should've gone for the head. That Jack Torrance is Henry Thomas, usual collaborator to Mike Flanagan. Great scene and great director.

Whoever falls victim to the overlook hotel, like Grady and Jack Torrance, they become staff of the hotel. And both w no recollection of what they had done to their family. Therefore, why should this actor duplicate the way Jack Nicholson played his role ? This gave the actor free reign to approach the role in a different way bc Jack Torrance is no longer Jack Torrance before the Overlook Hotel.

The critics completely missed the point. Ask yourself, what if it were possible for Shakespeare to come back and do a sequel to Hamlet? Wouldn't you want to know how he might top "To Be Or Not To Be? Well basically that is what just happened. Stephen King (still alive and well, by the way) took one of his most popular books. a book he wrote in 1977. and did a sequel. He doesn't do that every day. Takes hubris. And cohones of steel. Then Hollywood stepped in, grabbed Ewen MacGregor and Rebecca Ferguson, and did a followup to The SHINING (1980) one of the most iconic hits of all time. And the critics just moaned and groaned and navel-gazed, as per usual. It might be too long. It might have flat spots and missed beats. And it might not pass Ebert's infamous "watch test." But, at the end of the day, Shakespeare just came back to give us an extra play. And no one even noticed.

Amazing, entertaining film. I was enthralled the entire duration. It was honestly a phenomenal movie. Ewan McGregor is probably the most underrated actor alive. He has the high ground. Free Stream ÎÏÎºÏÏÏ ÎÏÎ½Î¿i buy.
